Get Your Groove Back with These 5 Joint-Supporting Practices

Dealing with joint pain can keep you from doing the things you love. While it's important to speak with your doctor on pain management, we've compiled a list of 5 lifestyle management tips that can help you get your groove back and support your joints!

1. Maintain a Healthy Weight: Weight management comes with a load of health benefits, and joint health is one of them! Excess weight puts additional strain on joints in our feet, ankles, knees, back, and neck. Losing weight in a healthy, sustainable way can reduce pressure on the joints and enhance mobility. Talk to us if you are considering a weight loss journey!

2. Move It, Move It: Speaking of mobility, increasing movement can decrease joint stiffness that often happens when we are inactive. Weight training enhances muscles and protects our bones and joints, so it's a great tool to proactively protect bone health. If weights are too much of a challenge, gentle full-body workouts like tai chi, Pilates, and swimming are great options to keep the body moving.

3. Correct Your Posture: Let's face it, we are in the sitting position WAY more often than we should be these days. With our necks craned downwards and backs slouched, poor posture puts a lot of strain on our joints. Learning proper posture can ease pressure off our necks, back, legs, hands, and wrists (how we type on a keyboard matters!)

4. Try Epsom Salts & Aloe:  Adding Epsom salts to a bath does more than add fragrance and soften the skin. Epsom salts are full of magnesium and are absorbed through the skin, providing relief to achy bones, joints, and muscles. If you are looking to pamper yourself, draw a hot bath with 2 cups of Epsom salts and soak for 20-30 minutes. When done, apply pure aloe leaf gel onto your joints for a boost of anti-inflammatory properties.

5. Supplement Properly: Supplementation cannot replace a bad diet, but instead will fill in the gaps and help make up what we are lacking. Supplements like glucosamine, chondroitin, collagen and MSM work to repair joint cartilage which allows for better movement. Boswellia Serrata is a natural anti-inflammatory. Luckily, our brand new Joint Support formula combines all 5 of these ingredients into a powerful capsule! Remember: supplements aren't an instant cure and require a few months to reap the benefits. Same goes for our Joint Formula. Talk to us to learn more!
